Professional Dog Training
Where every dog is an individual, and training will be tailored to their unique needs.
Seeking help is a big step for you and your dog. It is important to know your trainer, so let me tell you a little about myself! I received a bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from Texas Tech University. During college I gained experience regarding dog care and behavior through coursework and working in daycare and boarding facilities. After graduation, I began working with pets in the Veterinary field, but was drawn to the dog training world, wanting to pursue my love for helping people understand and communicate with their pets. I combine my experience coaching and communicating with families with dog training skills to teach both humans and pets to live together as a family! I always strive to create a safe and structured learning environment for dogs in my care, including my 3 dogs, a German Shepherd named Lily, Daisy the Shepsky and Iris, a Malinois.
What does training include?
Obedience is a tool so that we are able to control the dog in a variety of environments. There is also a mindset shift that comes with obedience. It’s the fact that we are getting the dog to work cooperatively and look to you for direction. It’s showing the dog that we are on the same page, that things we say have meaning and opens lines of clear communication. So even though certain commands or tricks are not always used in day-to-day life, it can change the way they think about the world! This will help you both gain confidence in each other and strengthen your relationship. In addition to problem solving unwanted behaviors and teaching the right ones, they will learn basic obedience skills including sit, down, place, come, loose leash walking, duration in commands, and reliability with distractions along with any additional goals and continuing support after training! Having a well behaved dog also involves much more than performing commands. Training will focus on meeting their mental and physical needs to help them become a well rounded, balanced and happy dog. My goal as a balanced trainer is to help humans and their dogs become the most fulfilled versions of themselves and for you to experience a deep bond with your dog by building clear communication and trust between you and your dog.
